Perry Lee Collins

May 7, 1971 ~ October 15, 2025

Born in: Philippi, West Virginia
Resided in: Philippi, West Virginia

Perry Lee Collins, age 54, a resident of Philippi, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in the Broaddus Hospital Emergency Room.

Perry was born on May 7, 1971, in Barbour County, a son of Kenneth and Sarah Jo (Mayle) Collins. On July 12, 1997, he was united in marriage to his best friend and the love of his life, Melea (Adams) Collins, who survives.

Together, they built a beautiful life and family, raising two daughters, Mercedes Lynn Collins and MacKenzie Leigh Branka and husband Derek. Perry was a proud “Pap” to his grandchildren, Marley Graber and Arlington Branka, who were the light of his life.

He is also survived by his brothers, Kirt Collins and wife Ann, Ray Collins and wife Nancy, his sister Rosanna Poling, and several beloved nieces and nephews. His lifelong best friend, Brad “Tater” Davis, was like a brother to him, and together they shared countless adventures and built lasting memories.

Perry was a hardworking man who took pride in his work as a heavy equipment operator for RDR Resources and as co-owner of Davis-Collins Operations. He was a member of Olive Hill Church and a man whose faith and kindness were evident in everything he did.

He loved being outdoors, especially going on SXS rides, and cherished his Sunday afternoon visits with his sister, a tradition that meant a great deal to both of them. Above all, nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his family and grandchildren. Perry will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his love of laughter, and the way he always listened to—and adored—his wife.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and On-Site Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St., Philippi, on Friday, October 17, from 11 a.m.–8 p.m., and again on Saturday, October 18, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

A celebration of Perry’s life will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the many ways he touched their lives.
