Christopher "Chris" Earl Conrad

May 2, 1969 ~ December 21, 2025

Born in: Oakland, Maryland
Resided in: Philippi, West Virginia

Christopher ”Chris” Earl Conrad, 56, of Philippi, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family and friends

Chris was born on May 2, 1969, in Oakland, Maryland, the son of Dewey Lane Conrad and Gudrun Gisela (Wallenwein) Conrad. From an early age, he had a knack for working with his hands—a talent that stayed with him throughout his life.

Chris worked at Leer Mines as a diesel mechanic and welder, a job that suited him perfectly. He loved to weld and was always tinkering, fixing, building, or figuring something out. If it could be repaired, Chris could do it. He truly was a jack of all trades.

Outside of work, Chris enjoyed the things that made him feel free—hunting, fishing at the beach, and racing four-wheelers. But his greatest joy came from being with his family. He was devoted to his wife, proud of his children, and absolutely adored his grandchildren, whom he loved endlessly and spoiled without hesitation.

On November 11, 1989, Chris married the love of his life, Kimberly Dawn (Ketterman) Conrad, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family.

He leaves behind his wife, Kim; his children, Samantha Burns and husband Matthew, and Dustin Conrad and wife Chelsea; and his beloved grandchildren, Mckinley, Madisyn, Raelynn, and Levi, who meant the world to him.

Also surviving are his sisters, Sandra Myers and husband Jeff, and Christina “Tina” Miller and husband Jeremy; his brother, Dewey Conrad and wife Cindy; nieces and nephews, Patrick Myers and wife Rachelle, Nathan Myers and wife Jennifer, Cory Conrad, Katlynn Powers and husband Landon, and Christopher Miller; along with many close friends and extended family who will miss him deeply.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Risa Wong of UPMC for her compassion, care, and kindness shown to Chris.

Family and friends will be received at New Life Worship Center, 5469 Nestorville Road, Philippi, on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM, and on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 AM.
