David Roy Talkington

David Roy Talkington, 78, of Belington, WV passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026 at Manchin Assisted Living in Bridgeport, WV with his sister Alice Estep and her husband Bill by his side. He was born in Washington, DC on March 1, 1947, the son of the late Roy and Olive Talkington.

He was married to Dorothy D. Wiseman on July 22, 1982.  She preceded him in death on April 3, 2015.

He is also preceded in by one sister Ruth Mickey of Oklahoma and one brother Danny Talkington of Bridgeport, WV, and a nephew, Ryan Talkington of Clarksburg WV. He is also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Goff Allen of Belington WV and sister-in-law Essie Tomassi.

He is survived by three bonus children.  Steaven Wiseman who was more like a son, who was there when he needed him, and Sherry Nestor of Belington and Shelia Brooks of Kentucky.

David is survived by his sister Alice and husband Bill of Clarksburg, Bonnie Long of Oakland, Md. and Darriel Talkington and wife Sabrina of Elkins, WV. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Mary Steerman and husband Charlie of Belington, WV and brother-in-law Carl Allen and wife Betty of Norristown, PA, and brother-in-law Jimmy Allen and Mike Tomassi.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle Buck.

David was a retired welder from Norristown, Pa. He moved to Belington WV after the death of his loving wife.

He was a member of the Phillippi Lions Club until his health declined.

His hobbies were growing beautiful flowers and feeding the birds that visited his bird houses daily.  He could identify most every bird that visited.  He also liked to hunt and fish in years past.

David requested to be cremated, and not to have any visitation or memorial service.
