Carolyn Ann Flanagan

Carolyn Ann Flanagan, 82, a lifelong resident of Belington, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at United Hospital Center.

Born March 23, 1943, in Belington, West Virginia, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Wilbert Browning and Anna Loretta Channel Browning. She was twice married, first to Roy Dale Richard and later to Amos Lee Flanagan.

Carolyn dedicated her working years as a home health aide with Davis Health Care and Mountain Hospice, where she provided compassionate care and comfort to those in need. She had a generous heart and a quiet strength that touched many lives.

She enjoyed reading, baking, working word puzzle books, and quilting. Carolyn especially cherished her beloved K-9 companions, Dusty and Honey, who brought her great joy and companionship.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Corley and husband Daniel of Belington; her son, David Andrew Richard and wife Brenda of Belington; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her close friend and care worker, Kim Long.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Dale Richard; her daughter, Malena Marie Richard; and several brothers and sisters.

Carolyn will be remembered for her loving spirit, her devotion to family, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met.
