Virginia "Vergie" Morea Rosier

Virginia “Vergie” Morea Ball Rosier, age 89, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother of St. George passed away from this life into the arms of her savior on Saturday July 25, 2026.  She was born on December 7, 1936 a daughter of the late Gay and Pearl (Strawderman) Ball.  On June 27, 1953 she was united in marriage to the late Denver Rosier, Sr. who preceded her in death May 5, 2014.

 

Vergie is survived by daughter  Barbara Mathias and husband Tom of Moorefield, son Denver Lee Rosier, Jr. and wife Connie of Elkins, and daughter Carolyn Pifer and husband Kevin of St. George; grandsons Justin Campbell and wife Amanda, Wyatt Pifer and wife Stephanie, and Jonathan Rosier and fiancé  Shawna Dixon; granddaughter Jessy Vandevender and husband Justin; step grandchildren Melissa Sexton and husband Jeremy, Michael Mathias and wife Brooke, and Megan Wagner and husband Neil.  15 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; sister Margaret Williams.

 

Vergie was preceded in death by her parents Gay and Pearl Ball; husband Denver Rosier, Sr.; precious grandson Aaron Logan Campbell, and siblings Mary Kisamore, Betty Godwin, Bobby Ball, Delores Morral, and Sandra Coberly.

 

Vergie was a homemaker that babysat for numerous children over the years.  She made many beautiful hand stitched quilts as Christmas and wedding gifts for her children and grandchildren.  She loved to garden and can.  She experienced great joy from sharing the fruits of her labor with her family.  She was devout Christian and loved to sing hymns on any occasion.

 

The family will welcome friends at the Sycamore Grove Church 219 Bull Run Rd. Parson, WV on Wednesday July 29, from 6-8:00 pm and again on Thursday July 30, from 9-11:00 am.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Rev. Lowell Moore officiating.  Vergie will be laid to rest beside her loving husband in the Harsh Cemetery on Clover Run in Tucker County.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Memory of Virginia and Denver to the Harsh Memorial Cemetery Fund c/o Tucker Community Foundation PO Box 491, Parsons, WV 26287.
