Lillian May Mick, age 83, a resident of Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center and a former resident of Philippi, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Lillian was born on February 7, 1943, in Parsons, West Virginia.
Lillian was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She treasured the time spent with those she loved and took great pride in watching her family grow through the generations. Her warm personality, friendly smile, and outgoing nature made her someone who never knew a stranger. She enjoyed visiting with others, sharing stories, and making lasting friendships wherever life took her.
Throughout her working years, Lillian was employed as a secretary for the West Virginia Extension Office and later retired from Barbour County Schools, where she worked in food service. She was an active member of her community and enjoyed giving her time and talents to others. She was involved in 4-H and previously helped oversee the Barbour County Fair Pageant, taking great pleasure in supporting local youth and community traditions.
Before her health began to decline, Lillian was a faithful and active member of Silent Grove Church, where she served as treasurer. Her church family and the friendships she formed there held a special place in her heart.
Lillian had a creative spirit and enjoyed keeping her hands busy with a variety of crafts, including Macrame, crocheting, and painting. She loved creating things with her own hands, often sharing her talents with those around her. She also cherished the memories made while camping at Twin Lakes, where she enjoyed relaxing, visiting, and spending quality time with family and friends.
Above all, Lillian will be remembered for her love of family, her kind and welcoming personality, and her ability to bring warmth and friendship into the lives of others. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lillian is survived by her loving children, Julia Serback and husband Joseph, and J. Adams Mick and wife Diane; her grandchildren, Andrew Turner and wife Victoria, Christopher Turner and companion Cierra Gillispie, Bryan Mick, Ethan Mick, Shaun Mick, and Emily Mick; and her great-grandchildren, Izeah, Olyver, Farrah, Amelia, Maci, Brody, Sadie, and two additional great-grandsons.
