M. Ruby Calhoun

Ruby Calhoun age 97 a resident of Audra Park Rd. Volga passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 in Clarksburg, WV. She was born November 3, 1918 in Volga a daughter of the late E.E. and Emma D. (Morrison) Smith. She was united in marriage December 25, 1934 to Flennie Calhoun who preceded her in death April 29, 1979. Surviving is, one son, Paul W. Calhoun of Volga, WV five grandchildren, Frank and Wendy Noble of Buffalo, NY; Cindy and Monte Sutton of Weirton, WV; Debbie and Merle Cribbs or Wellsburg, WV; Paula and Jim Lough of Bethany, WV and Peggy and Brian Mizango of Wellsburg, WV. eight great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren Ms. Calhoun was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Rose Marie Calhoun; one son, Alva Lee Calhoun; one great-grandchild; three sisters and three brothers. She was a homemaker and a member of Queen’s Chapel Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 12-2 pm the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
