Nora “Evelyn” Jones, age 90, a resident of Mansfield Dr. Philippi unexpectedly went home to be with lord on Friday August 31, 2018 in the Broaddus Hospital Emergency Room. Evelyn was born October 24, 1927 in Adair, WV a daughter of the late Romie and Sybil (Knight) Fields. Evelyn was united in marriage on July 3, 1949 to Stanley R. Jones who preceded her in death on August 12, 2004.

Keith Jones and wife Vickie of Philippi
Brother, Max Fields of Charleston, WV
Sisters, Flip Jones of Mt. Pleasant, NC
Greta Null and husband Harry of La Grange, OH
Mona Andolsek of Wakeman, OH
Dona Fields of Canal Fulton, OH
Grandchildren, Chris Jones of Mt. Carmel, TN
Kristin Wiley and husband Rich of Burke, VA
Erin Tobin and husband Thad of La Mesa, CA
Julian Jones and Companion Samantha of Philippi
Great grandchildren, Hunter Jones and wife Racheal, Ameila and John Paul Wiley, Riley and Finn Tobin
Evelyn was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Fields. Evelyn was a homemaker, she enjoyed knitting, loved traveling and especially spending time with her family.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday September 2, from 3-8 pm and on Monday September 3, from 10- 1 pm the service hour with Rev. Ruston Seaman officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.







So so sorry to hear the news. She was a beautiful person, strong, and a great sense of humor. I am so honored that I was able to meet her and our paths crossed. She will be missed. You are all in my prayers

We are so sorry for your loss. She was indeed a very special lady. We were lucky enough to have her and Stanley in Jones County for a few years. I always called her “Aunt” Evelyn because she always made me feel like I was part of her family.
She will surely be missed. We will keep everyone in our thoughts prayers.

This world ids not as bright without Aunt Evelyn. However, heaven had a wonderful reunion when she and Stanley reunited. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family but especially Flip and her family. Evelyn was such a part of all their lives and we are all so very blessed to have had her.
