Philip Matthew Garber, age 52, a resident of Philippi passed away Monday June 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 28, 1963 in Oakland, Ca a son of the late Jay Lee Garber Sr. and Elaine F. (McNamara) Garber who survives in Clement Falls, OR. Phil was united in marriage on December 1, 1989 to Betty (Jones) Garber who also survives at home.

Dwayne E. Garber of Reno Neveda
Three step grandchildren; Cierra Everson, Isaac Everson, and Coalton Everson
Phil was preceded in death by one sister; Debra Abelmann
He worked as a field sampler for Standard Coal Lab, he served in the US Army.
Phil trained race horses and was an avid golfer and fisherman.
He enjoyed spending time with his buddy, Topanga.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday June 4, from 5-8 pm and on Friday June 5, from 8- 11:30 am the service hour with Rev. Rick Price officiating. Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery with full military honors being accorded.

Betty and family – you are in our hearts and prayers. Phil is at peace and with Dad, Debbie, Debi and Sarah. They were there to meet him and receive him home. He will always be with us in our hearts and memories. He was blessed with you in his life and lived his life to the fullest, enjoying every minute. He lives on in all our memories…he will be loved forever. All our love…
