Philip Garber

Life Legacy Philip Matthew Garber, age 52, a resident of Philippi passed away Monday June 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 28, 1963 in Oakland, Ca a son of the late Jay Lee Garber Sr. and Elaine F. (McNamara) Garber who survives in Clement Falls, OR. Phil was united in marriage on December 1, 1989 to Betty (Jones) Garber who also survives at home. Also surviving Three step children; Helen Everson of Belington Tommy Everson and wife Brandy of Belington Brian Everson of Philippi Sister; Sharon Sinclair and husband Allen of Barron West Conn. Brothers; Jay Lee Garber Jr. of Hempstead, TX Kevin Charles Garber and wife Bonnie of McMinnville, OR Gregory Garber and wife Debra of Modespa, CA Jeffrey L. Garber of Base, OH Dwayne E. Garber of Reno Neveda Three step grandchildren; Cierra Everson, Isaac Everson, and Coalton Everson Phil was preceded in death by one sister; Debra Abelmann He worked as a field sampler for Standard Coal Lab, he served in the US Army. Phil trained race horses and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his buddy, Topanga. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday June 4, from 5-8 pm and on Friday June 5, from 8- 11:30 am the service hour with Rev. Rick Price officiating. Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery with full military honors being accorded.
