Violet Mouser

Violet R. Mouser, age 88, a resident of Mansfield Place of Broaddus Hospital passed away Friday October 21, 2011. She was born May 10, 1923 in Clemtown, WV a daughter of the late Elihue and Trona (Cross) Mitchell. She was united in marriage on December 27, 1943 to George C. Mouser who preceded her in death on October 23, 1983. Surviving is: One daughter: Sandra S. Duckworth and husband Allen of Philippi One son: Greg Lynn Mouser of Philippi Two sisters: Haley Wright of North Madison, OH Lela Reed of Good Samaritan Society of Barbour County Sister-in-law: Verlin Mitchell of Fairmont, WV Three grandchildren: Jody Lauttamus , Paul Lauttamus and wife Annie all of Weirton, WV, and Kasey B. Mouser One great grandchild: Carson Lauttamus of Weirton, WV Ms. Mouser was preceded in death by five brothers and two sister-in-laws; Elbern and wife Goldie Mitchell, Wilburn and wife Mable Mitchell, Carl, Harry, and James Mitchell, five sisters; Thelma Keller, Edna Mitchell, Agnes Keller, Rita Kennedy, Opal Berger. She worked as a store clerk for the Barbour Department Store, she a past member of the Business Professional Women and attended the Philippi United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday October 23, from 2-8 pm and on Monday October 24, from 8 am - 2 pm the service hour with Rev. John Villers and Rev. Tim Bleigh officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.
