Odie Monroe McGee, age 70, a resident of Chestnut St. Philippi passed away Sunday June 23, 2013 in Broaddus Hospital. He was born June 1, 1943 in Berryburg, WV a son of the late Gordon Dayton and Theressa Jane (Bartlett) McGee. Surviving is; Former wife Annetta Marie (Mayle) McGee of Philippi Seven sons: Kevin Monroe McGee and companion Sandra Alexander of Buckhannon Gregory Martin McGee and wife Cheryl of Mooringsport, LA Jeffrey Mark McGee and wife Angela of Points, WV Anthony Matthew McGee and fiancé Dana Slaubaugh of Oakland, MD Walter Myron McGee of Belington Joshua Darnell McGee and wife Danelle of Fairmont, WV Jared Ashley McGee of Philippi Six brothers and sisters; Winfield McGee of Philippi Margaret McGee of Fairmont, WV Rita Foster and husband Luke of Nestorville Frona Bennett and husband Tom of Buckhannon Ann Collins of Philippi Carl McGee and wife Carolyn Sue of Flemington 14 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren Mr. McGee was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters; Mary Edith Brewer, Charles Wesley McGee, Gordon Dayton McGee, Shirley May Simmons, and an infant brother. Mr. McGee retired as a carpenter from William H. Hazel Construction. He was an Apostolic by faith. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday June 25, from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday June 26, from 8 am – 1 pm the service hour with Pastor JR Mayle officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
