Charles Rickard

Charles Lee Rickard, age 82, a resident of Rt. 4 Philippi passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday July 4, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 19, 1930 in Shinnston, WV a son of the late Lon F. and Ruby Pearl (Cosner) Rickard. Charles was united in marriage on March 2, 1956 to Jane (Kelley) Rickard who survives. Also surviving is One daughter: Jean Ellen Irvine and husband Chris of Philippi One son: Jim Rickard of Philippi One brother: Jessie Rickard and wife Patsy of Parkersburg, WV Two grandchildren: Jason Ryan Rickard and Alyssa Jane Rickard of Pittsburgh, PA Charles was preceded in death by one brother, Junior Rickard, and one sister, Ruby Blessing. Charles worked as an Heavy Equipment Operator for Grafton Coal Co. and also for Barbour Coal Co. He loved watching football and was a member of the Jerusalem United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday July 7, from 5-8 pm and on Sunday July 8, from 8 am- 2 pm the service hour with Rev. Tim Bleigh officiating.
