Lorraine Mitchell

Lorraine Mitchell age 82 a resident of Mansfield Place and a former resident of Rt. 2 Philippi passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011. She was born April 11, 1929 in Barbour County a daughter of the late Lon and Blanche E. (McDaniel) Upton. She was united in marriage to Robert Franklin Mitchell who preceded her in death. Surviving is, One daughter Marian Sublett and husband Paul “Corkey” of Philippi One son, Rodney Mitchell and wife Linda of Philippi One sister, Norma Jean Mitchell of Philippi One brother, Frank Upton and wife Georgia of Willowick, OH Four Grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Harris and husband Brian; Shaun Sublett and wife Nyoka; Scott Sublett and fiancé Denise Jones and Mandy Sisson and husband Ryan. Six great-grandchildren, Shaina Sublett, Kelci Sublett, Gavin Sublett, Devin Sublett, Tyler Sisson and Trevin Sisson. Ms. Mitchell was preceded in death by eleven siblings, Thomas Lee Upton, Willard Upton, Lon E. Upton, Aira D. Upton, Francise V. Upton, Wilbert Upton, Robert Upton, Martha Melinda Sandridge, Dorsey Upton, Dever Upton and Evelyn Nestor. She was a seamstress for Grafton Manufacturing Apparel for over 40 years. She was Methodist by Faith, member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary # 410, she loved life and lived life to the fullest. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home on Sunday, October 2, from 5-8 and on Monday, October 3, from 8:00 am- 2:00 pm the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in Mary’s Chapel Cemetery.
