Lurae Mitchell

Lurae June Mitchell, age 78, a resident of Clemtown, WV departed this life on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at her residence. She was born September 6, 1937 in Moatsville, WV a daughter of the late Odbert Ray and Helen Lenora (Cox) Poe. She was united in marriage on December 6, 1958 to Richard G. Mitchell who survives at home. Also surviving Two daughters; Sharon Hunt and husband Dave of Clemtown Lisa Landers and husband Terry of Wytheville, VA Three sons; Gary Mitchell and wife Mahala of Philippi Larry Mitchell and wife Kim of Clemtown Eric “Speedy” Mitchell and companion Dana Hamby of Clemtown One sister; Linda Summerfield and husband Russell of Philippi Thirteen grandchildren, Tiffany Witek, Kayla Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell, Brandon Mitchell, Parker Mitchell, Maggie Mitchell, Jeremy Hunt, Brian Newberry, Amber Newberry, Devan Newberry, Jessica Landers, Jacob Landers, Travis Mitchell Seven great grandchildren, Madalyn Tomey, Dante Tomey, Hayden Mitchell, Paisely Mitchell, Kellin Burton, Alayna Burton, Aiden Newberry Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by three sisters, Myoma Jo Poling, Beverly Freeman, Mary Jane Runner, two brothers, Evertt Poe and Dwight Poe, two grandchildren, Ashley and Darien Hunt Mrs. Mitchell was homemaker and loved her children and grandchildren; she enjoyed camping and fellowshipping with new friends. She never met a stranger. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday April 28, from 4-8 pm, on Friday April 29, from 8 am- 8 pm and on Saturday April 30, from 8- 11 am the service hour with Rev. David Maley and Ervin Mayle Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.
