Wilma “Cookie” Lee Zelinsky, age 71, a resident of Jenkins St. Buckhannon passed away Tuesday May 31, 2016 at her residence. She was born July 16, 1944 in Century No. 2, a daughter of the late Creed and Bessie (Lantz) Shaffer. Wilma was united in marriage on March 4, 1967 to Michael “Mike” George Zelinsky who preceded her in death on August 23, 2001. Surviving are

One sister; Bessie Louise Shaffer of Volga
Three grandchildren; Lindsay Riley of Buckhannon, Nick Riley of Belington, Josey Zelinsky of Buckhannon
Two great grandchildren; Kale Riley and Alexander Wiant
Wilma was preceded in death by two sisters; Kathryn Virginia Shaffer Loretta Shaffer Marsh, four brothers Albert Eugene Shaffer, Edward Richard “Bub” Shaffer, Ernest James “Dump” Shaffer, Harold Junior “Hike” Shaffer.
She worked as a nurse’s aide for Leonard Memorial Hospital, and retired from Alderson Broaddus University from the housekeeping department. She was a Methodist by faith. Wilma loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday June 3, from 5-8 pm and on Saturday June 4, from 8 am- 1 pm the service hour with Pastor Mildred Endrizzi officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
