Lifelong resident, Ruby Pearl Annon Moats of the Tacy Community in Moatsville went to be with the Lord at age 91 on Thursday morning, January 8, 2015 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport with many friends and family by her side.
She was born March 20, 1923 in Barbour County, the daughter of the late Floyd and Bernice (Poling) Annon. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert E. Moats, brothers Murl and Burl Annon, two grandchildren Kimberly Waugh and Mark Brown and son-in-law Charlie Viars.
She is survived by her four daughters: Janet (Jack) Brown of Westerville, OH; Carolyn (Chris) Lowe of Waldorf, MD; Joy Viars of Fairfax, VA; Jane (Greg) Price of Moatsville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Karen (Tye) Downard, Wes (Carrie) Stewart, Brian (Nicole) Stewart, Michele (Steven) Cave, Bradley Price, Brandon (Bethany) Price, Erin (Paul) Yocum, Joseph Price; thirteen great grandchildren; granddaughter-in-law Faith Brown; sister-in-law Loretha Annon and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a devoted wife and homemaker and her door was always open to the community. She was an avid farmer and especially loved her horses and cattle. She was also a member of Dorcas Rebecca Lodge #275, Tacy CEOS, Tacy Seniors and the American Angus Association.
She who is loved will never be forgotten.
Friends will be received at Wrights Funeral Home, 220 N Walnut Street in Philippi on Thursday, January 15 from 1-8 pm as well as on Friday, January 16 from 10am-8pm with a Rebecca Lodge Service at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 17 at 1 pm in the Chapel with Reverend Kenny Kendall officiating and burial following at the Fairview Cemetery.

Ruby was a wonderful lady who graciously welcomed us into her home with open arms. She was a true pleasure to sit down with and have a long conversation, and will be greatly missed.
