Dora Jeanne (Hotsinpiller) Crouse, age 86, a resident of South Walnut St. Philippi passed away Wednesday May 10, 2017 at her home under the care of Mt. Hospice. She was born February 6, 1931 in Galloway a daughter of the late Virgil and Virginia (Chidester) Hotsinpiller.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years Orlan Crouse Jr., two sons, Stephen D. “Rocky” Crouse of South Charleston, WV, and Michael L. Crouse of Raleigh, NC.
Also are two grandsons, Douglas Crouse of Charleston, WV, and Justin Crouse of Raleigh, NC, and one granddaughter Sarah E. Crouse of Charleston, WV.
Dora was preceded in death by two daughter-in-law’s Evelyn Crouse of Raleigh, NC, and Teresa Crouse of South Charleston, WV, also two sisters, Leona Costello of Canton, OH, and Mary Smallridge of Charleston, WV, one brother Donald Hotsinpiller of Philippi
Dora was a member of the Crim Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as financial secretary for 25 years and a member of Philippi Chapter #41 Order of Eastern Star.
The family would like to thank the members of the Crim Memorial United Methodist Church for all of their kind thoughts and prayers and all of those many kind and thoughtful people who brought food during their trying period. A very special thank you to Mountain Hospice and the Barbour County Senior Center for their assistance and guidance.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday May 12, from 4-8 pm. The Philippi Chapter #41 OES will conduct services at 7 pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday May 13, from 8-11 am the service hour with Rev. Sam Haught officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Mountain Hospice 1002 S. Crim Ave. Belington, WV 26250 or the Parkinson Foundation 200 SE 1st St. Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.







Jeanne and Orland would come to my home and talk about old times in the family. They have both made many memories for me. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Orlan, and family, We r so sorry for the loss of your loved one. She was such a wonderful, caring, and loving woman. She also was both her and Orlan were the best neighbors we had for over 40 yrs, we were so blessed to have such wonderful people for our neighbors, we think of that beautiful garden that Tom and Orlan would raise, I would can green beans, and so did Jeanne, we had a wide variety of veggies there, and both of u loved it too. So may God bless Orlan and his family, give them peace, strength, and healing in the days, weeks, and months ahead.
