Terry Lee McVicker, age 74, a resident of Hackers Creek Rd. Philippi, passed away Thursday January 25, 2018 at his residence. He was born October 19, 1943 in Barbour County, a son of the late Clyde L. and Martha (Duckworth) McVicker. Surviving is

Brother, Denzil “Lenny” McVicker of Philippi
Three grandchildren, Gara and Travis McVicker of Philippi and Chloe Conley of NC
Terry retired as a coal miner having worked at Rob Lee Coal Mines, Badger Coal Company and Sentinel Coal Mines.
Terry was a member of the Bigelow Lodge # 52 AF & AM, he loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and he enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, playing his guitar and listening to music. Terry was a skilled carpenter and mechanic. His biggest love was spending time with his grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday January 27, from 5-8 pm. A graveside service will be held on Sunday January 28 at 1 pm at Clemtown Cemetery with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating.







So sorry to hear of Terry's passing. I graduated with Terry from PHS in 1961. He gave me my first ride on a motorcycle in 1960. While a bit of a rebel, always kind, always a gentleman.
Find comfort in knowing he lives on in the many life's he touched.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Terry.He was a good friend and a hero to me.If you needed him he was always there to help.He helped me several times on electoral problems. I first met him around 1994 and never met a nicer person.We laughed often and shared some good times. I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Terry. My brother Jeff took me to meet Terry about a year ago and we hit it off fast and I felt like a friend. My brother and Terry were best friends and I'll miss him for my brother. Jeff told me that Terry was a man of many talents and lots of friends. He will be missed.
