Michael L. Minix, age 54, a resident of Philippi passed away Tuesday August 15, 2017 in United Hospital Center. He was born March 9, 1963 in Ironton, OH a son of the late Dayton and Pheba (Aldridge) Minix. He was united in marriage to his wife of 32 years Rita (Jenkins) Minix who survive at home. Three daughters, Stephanie Poe and husband Chris of NC
Jamie Minix
Ashley Cripps both of Philippi
Grandchildren, Jordan Poe, Bryson Poe, Camden Poe, and Taylee Daughtery
Sisters, Kathy Long of Columbus, OH
Irene Adkins and husband Gary of Summersville
Special nephew, Jeremy Long
Mike was preceded in death by brother, JR Minix
Mike enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, his special interests were watching westerns, operating heavy equipment and antiquing.
Everyone that met Mike fell in love with his great personality and witty humor. He will be missed by all.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday August 17, from 12- 3 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm with Pastor Jim Strawderman officiating. Interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery.

Mike was a great man. I knew the day would come, but I am speechless. I wish I would've met him sooner. He was so appreciative and caring. I will mis him so much.
My heart and prayers are with all the family. Mike was a good person.
To the Minix family,
I've known Jamie for it seems like forever, however never got the pleasure to meet her father. I'd just like to say After losing my kid brother I never knew how much it could hurt! I know the heart wrenching pain you all are feeling! I love ya Jamie and if you need anything you know where I'm at.
