Sharon “Gig” Melinda Sturm Hoffman Golden, of South Main St. Philippi passed away unexpectedly July 5, 2021. Sharon was born January 19, 1951 in Philippi a daughter of the late George W. Sturm and Hazel (Skidmore) Sturm Hotsinpiller. She is survived by her two sons, eldest Jonathan Crites and wife Kristine and youngest Matthew Jason Hoffman, along with grandchildren, Tarryn Beau, Mykal Mallori, Ethan, Isaiah, and Christian along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Danny T. Hoffman and William Bill Golden; brothers Jimmy Sturm, Leonard Sturm; sisters, Sandy Sturm, Avanell “Abby” Yhealon, Georgia Hatfield; and grandchild Kyson Bear Hoffman.
Sharon “Gig” graduated from Philip Barbour Class of 1970, after she graduated she started working at Dairy King in Philippi, shortly after she started her career at Broaddus Hospital as a Btech Ward Clerk. She also worked as a CNA at Meadow View Mountain Personal Care Nursing Home. She also assisted in building the Stonewall Jackson Dam and worked for the WV National Survey as a Surveyor, Sharon “Gig” was a very hard worker and has many different careers in her lifetime.
In Sharon’s free time she enjoyed tending to her flower garden, her back porch, and cooking for those all around, so much that she opened her own Restaurant called Main St. Café. She also cooked holiday dinners and would always invite the public to her home. Sharon enjoyed many crafts like crocheting, wreath making and decorating tasty treats. Sharon also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and friends, and Sharon was an exceptional driven friend, mother, grandmother. She worked also for Gambill Amusement for 23 years, and her last year at Grumpy’z, as a cook. Sharon “Gig” put everyone before herself and needs, vivid worker, she will be missed by all.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday July 10, from 4-8 pm and on Sunday July 11, from 8 am- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm with Pastor Joe Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in the Tacy Crossroads Cemetery.







Gig was a good friend. She will be missed by many. R.I.P Gig

Gig, hard to believe you're gone. Have known you most of my life and have had a lot of good times. Will never forget you for as long as I live. Rest in peace my dear friend and tell everyone up there in heaven that's with you hello from me and my family. You will be missed by many.Prayers sent for all your family and friends.

Sharon was a beautiful girl in our class at school, inside and out. My sympathies to all of her family and friends who will miss her every day.
To my mom there are no words how I feel every night before I got to bed I think about you in the morning I wait to hear from you I see you every where I go or a song may come on the radio I still cry like a baby life will have a large hole in it that you filled up. There are days I wish I could call you you were my everything I love you so much and always will. Threw the bad and the good I know your pain is gone I know you are at rest and knowing that keeps me going on for those who you left behind you are sadly missed mom your son Shaun
