Martha Ball

March 3, 1927 ~ November 7, 2015

Martha Lea Ball, age 88, went to be with the lord, November 7, 2015 at 1:15 am at her home, under the care of her family and Mountain Hospice. She was born March 3, 1927 at Teter Creek a daughter of the late Creed O. and Lelah (Hovatter) Marsh. She was united in marriage on July 19, 1947 to George Harold Ball who survives at home. Also surviving Two daughters, Linda Kwitowski and friend Jim of Mitchellville, MD Debbie Mallow of Philippi Two sons, Danny Ball and wife Leona of Philippi Rodney Ball and wife Justina of West Milford Brother, Wilford Marsh and wife Jeanie of Philippi Two sisters, Clara Nestor and husband Charlie of Tennessee Betty Jones of Philippi Eight grandchildren, Shanna, George, Jarod, Jason, Matthew, Cody, Andrew, Benjamin Eight great grandchildren She was preceded in death by infant brother Billy, sisters, Glenna Ruth Ball, Idola Dean Price, and granddaughter, Holli Dean Ball. Martha worked as a Medical secretary at Broaddus Hospital for 19 years. She was a member of New Hope Valley Methodist Church. She was very active with youth Sunday school. She enjoyed flowering gardening, bowling, and caring for family and friends. She was an avid WVU Fan. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday November 9, from 3-8 pm and on Tuesday November 10, from 8 am – 2 pm the service hour with Rev. Larry Poling officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery at Tacy. Tuesday November 10, 2015, 2 pm at Wright Funeral Home Click for Map and Directions
