Dema Carr

Dema Almonta (Zirkle) Carr, age 92, a resident of High St. Belington passed away on Friday May 17, 2013 at her residence. She was born March 1, 1921 in Hall, WV a daughter of the late Charles Lewis and Alice Francis (Proudfoot) Zirkle. She was united in marriage on April of 1939 to William Lee Carr Sr. who preceded her in death on April of 1987. Surviving are Four daughters: Debra Carr of Belington Delores Chapman and husband Jim of Newcastle WY Janet Lucille McCord and husband Larry of Accident, MD Shirley Jean Swearingen and the late husband Bruce Lee of Winchester, VA Two sons: Ronald Earl Carr of Grafton Willard Dale Carr and wife Beverly of McKeesport, PA 14 grandchildren: Mark Lee Swearingen, Randy Lee McCord, Alisa Kline, Sherri Heldreth, Lucinda Carr, Dema Gail Carr, Kathryn Carr, Ronald Earl Carr, William Lee Carr III, Clinton Wayne Carr, Lori Gaye Johns, Stephanie Riley, Timothy Carr, Michael Carr Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by two sons: Stephen Michael Carr and William Lee Carr Jr. Mrs. Carr was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed playing bingo at the Belington Senior Center. She was a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday May 18, from 5-8 pm and on Sunday May 19, from 8 am – 4 pm the service hour with Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
