Gladys Harsh

Gladys L. Harsh, age 92 a resident of Morgantown Ave. Fairmont and former resident of Rt. 2 St. George passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 22, 1923 in Philippi, a daughter of the late Melville P. and Lena B. Upton. She was united in marriage on January 26, 1946 to Pascal W. Harsh who preceded her in death May 4, 1999. Surviving are- three daughters, Lena Cathern Pearse and husband John of Parsons Rebecca Jane Pronty of Fairmont Hazel L. Booth and husband Ernie of Fairmont three sons, Pascal Dana Harsh and wife Donna of Philippi D. Robert Harsh of Mannington Steven S. Harsh of Morgantown three sisters, Goldie M. Parks of Philippi Josephine Bucklew of Philippi Edna Dell Thorne of Fairmont 11 grandchildren, one step-grandchild and six great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by one sister, Joy Lee Scott; two brothers, William M. Upton and Woodrow B. Upton Ms. Harsh worked at G.C. Murphy 5&10 in Fairmont, C&P Telephone Co. and was a cashier for Polis Brothers in Fairmont She liked to crochet, enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 5-8 pm and on Monday, December 14 from 8am-1pm the service hour with Pastor Ruston Seaman officiating.
