Ollie Phillips

Ollie Lee Phillips, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday August 5, 2016 at Lakewood Manor Care. Ollie was born on April 19, 1921 in Decatur, IL to Roy and Nora (Jones) Phillips. Ollie graduated from Phillippi High School in Phillippi, WV and West Virginia Business College in Clarksburg, WV. She was an administrative assistant for over 50 years working for several companies, including Badger Coal Company and Benedum Enterprises. She was an active member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) Ollie moved to Marco Island in 1970 and then to Lakewood in Naples in 1975 where she resided until her extended illness. Ollie had been a member of the Wesley Methodist Church on Marco Island since 1971. Ollie was an avid golfer and walker which she attributed to her longevity. She also enjoyed beach activities, bridge and visiting with her many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Nora (Jones) Phillips of Phillippi, WV, her infant brother Roy Eugene Phillips, her sister Ava Marie (Phillips) Herrington of Bridgeport, WV and her sister Margaret Louise (Phillips) Sinsel of Phillippi, WV. Ollie is survived by her sister Carol June Everson of Davison, MI. Nephews: Jim (Reba) Herrington of Naples, Fl. Children: Jamie, Bethany and Amy Phillip Herrington of Greer, SC. Children: Faye and Carrie Keith (Jackie) Sinsel of Montrose, CO. Children: Brian Steve (Carol) Sinsel of Phillippi, WV. Children: Stephanie and Bronlyn Larry (Linda) Everson of Olive Branch, MS. Children: Brian and Christie Lynn (Alice) Everson of Davison, MI. Children: Ryan and Kyle Niece: Lynetta (Gary) of Columbia, TN. Children: Kari, Andrea, Matthew, Jesi and Krysi The family wishes to thank the staff at Lakewood Manor Care and Avow Hospice of Naples. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 1pm at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Dr. Lowell Swisher officiating. Inurnment will follow services.
