Randall Lee Stafford, age 56 of Philippi, WV passed away at his home on Dec 11, 2018.
Randy was born June 15, 1962, in Philippi, WV the youngest child of Robert Eugene and Nancy Louise Stafford. He grew up in Woodbridge and Springfield, VA. He attended Fork Union Military Academy which started his military career and graduated from Crossland High School in Prince Georges County MD.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army for 18 years at various military installations around the world. His consistent meritorious service was evidenced while serving as Non-commissioned Officer in Charge, Research and Analysis Branch, Intelligence Directorate, Joint Task Force-Full Accounting, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii. Sergeant First Class Stafford’s leadership resulted in successful evaluation and correlation of over 500 intel reports related to unaccounted-for Americans still missing as a result of the Vietnam War. Randy was discharged from the Army at Fort Gordon Georgia and spent several years hauling vehicles, trailers, and whatever needed to be moved.
From Grovetown Georgia Randy moved to Philippi, WV; took a thought, made it a reality by building his own business. Randy spent a great part of his life enjoying everything about vehicles and was master at restoring, fixing, upgrading cars and trucks—if it was broke he could fix it.
Through his hard work and goal oriented mind set “Randy’s Repo” became well known and a very successful business in the Barbour and surrounding WV counties. Randy himself became known as “King Randy” to many.
Randy is survived by his mother Nancy MacDonald (Mac), his father Robert Stafford, Step Mother Nancy Hardesty; Sisters Crystal Ashton (Mike), Tracy Stafford Dunnavant (Gary), Suzanne Stafford Richardson (Todd); Nephew Travis; Nieces Tonya, Amy, Ava and Addie; Aunts and Uncles Harold and Melanie Cox, Paulette Snider, Duane Moore, Carolyn Shafer Hubert, and Barbara Lindsay and lots of great cousins and wonderful friends he considered family.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 10am-12pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 pm with Pastor Jim Strawderman officiating. Inurment will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors being accorded. Memorial donations may be made in Randy's name to Heart and Hand, P.O. Box 128 Philippi WV 26416

I didn't know Randy too well. But have heard many greats things about him. I was working the polls a few times at the Philippi Elementary School and Randy always brought us in food. Didn't have to but he did and always thanked us for our time. Sad to hear of your loss.
