May S. Neal, age 89, a resident of N. Walnut St. Philippi passed away Tuesday August 30. 2011 at her residence. She was born May 8, 1922in Belington a daughter of the late Burr and Rhoda (Everson) Shockey. She was united in marriage June 4, 1943 to Ralph D. Neal Sr. who preceded her in death on February 22, 1958. Surviving is:
One daughter: Penny Elaine Everson of Memphis Tenn.
Two sons: Ralph D. "Butch" Neal Jr. and wife Margo of Morgantown
Mickey Jon Neal and wife Betsy of Hurricane, WV
Six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren
Ms. Neal was preceded in death by three sisters: Belva Ensminger, Irene Andrick, Pearl Shockey, seven brothers: Bern, Hugh, Otto, Harold, Leonard, Orion and Bertsell Shockey, and two great grandchildren.
She was a retired teacher for Barbour County Board of Education. She was a member of the Mt. Liberty Church of Christ.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday September 1, from 4-8 pm and on Friday September 2, from 8-11 am the service hour with the Eulogy given by Lloyd Shockey. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

So sorry to hear about your Mothers passing, my Mom passed away 11/06 and I know the sadness you feel. I have lots of memories over the years when I was younger..even have an older picture of me and Mickey when we lived on Main Street, when we were about 4-5 yrs old, I have good memories of that time.
