Nicholas Baughman age 36 a resident of 4th Street, Philippi passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the University of Baltimore Medical Center. He was born January 31, 1981 in Philippi, WV a son of Terry “Pickle” Baughman and Doris Winans who survive. Also surviving-
Maternal grandparents, Charles and Phyllis Jones of Philippi
Uncles, Bobby Baughman and wife Paula of Philippi
Rookie Baughman of Baltimore, MD
Aunt Judy Jordan of Mars, PA
Several additional aunts and uncles
Two cousins, Kristy Thompson of Mars, PA and Rick Baughman of Toledo, OH
Special Friend, Martin Sutherlin of Clarksburg
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald Baughman and Harriet Kennedy
Mr. Baughman was a drilling assistant for E2CR Drilling.
He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, golf and was an avid bowler
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 5-8pm and on Monday, January 8th from 8-11am the service hour with Pastor Sam Haught officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

This is gut wrenching to hear, when you think of some of your best memories growing up and certain people are part of all of them, then to tragically hear news lime this. What does one even say, or do? Pickle you were like a dad to me. You always made sure I had a ride to and from. Always made sure we had sunflower seeds and coca cola. I know there is nothing one can say to make this easier on you Pickle, but I do want you to know that You were like a Dad to me and Nick was like a brother. My heart aches right now. I know that everything happens for a reason, but what is that reason. Why do some of the greatest people get put through the most difficult times. If there is anything I can do for you Pickle please let me. Times are going to be difficult, and maybe allowing some if the old gang to help you out it may make coping a little bit easier. RIP Nick, you are gone but in my eyes you will never be forgotten. This is a hard time for a lot of people. I'd like to share a story. We were all around 13-14 and we got the wild idea to ride a logging road to Audra from Philippi. We all had mountain bikes except Nick. He had Pickles one speed beach cruiser, padded seat and all. He was so determined to keep up to the front of our pack that he nearly had a heart attack pedalling that bike. But he did, he stayed right there with me the whole ride. Through the woods, on the railroad tracks, and then finally the climb up carrolton rd. to Audra. He was a trooper and wouldn't let something like one gear and road slicks slow him down. I'll miss you my friend.
My heart goes out to the family! Nick was a great guy and will be missed dearly.
I AM STILL IN SHOCK,I CAN NOT BELIEVE NICK IS GONE. I REMEMBER BOWLING WITH HIM WE HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME. HE WAS AN AMAZING YOUNG MAN. I am sorry for the loss of your loved one, the day is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will here here his voice and come our John 5:28,29 . there is going to be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous Acts 24:14. In the future everyone who has lost a loved one in death has a chance of seeing them again, in a new paradise earth that Jehovah God has promised, and made possible through the death of his son Jesus Christ. Revelation 21:4,5 promises that he (Jehovah) will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be any more. The former things have passed away. And the one seated on the throne will said “look I am making all things new” also he said “Write for these words are faithful and true”. My deepest sympathy at the loss of your dear Nick. Mom and Dad always enjoyed their visits with you all, and came home full of stories about you and Nick.They loved you guys so very much.
