George Russell Summerfield, Jr.
April 24, 1947 ~ August 3, 2021
George Russell “Tujor” Summerfield Jr., passed away Tuesday August 3, 2021 at his home in Arden under Hospice Care. He was born April 24, 1947 in Arden, WV the son of the late George Russell Sr. “Spook” and Virginia Maxine (Workman) Summerfield. On August 5, 1972 he was united in marriage to Linda Lou (Poe) Summerfield who preceded him in death on September 23, 2020. Surviving are children- Greg Summerfield and wife Jessica of Arden and Shawn Summerfield and wife Marla of Philippi. Grandchildren Tyler Summerfield and fiancée Sierra Mauller of Philippi, Jacob Summerfield and girlfriend Alexis Hamrick of Philippi, Alisha Summerfield of Philippi, Jaiden Summerfield of Philippi, and Damon Summerfield of Arden; great-grandchildren Braleigh Summerfield of Philippi, Abby Summerfield of Philippi, also one on the way. Also surviving are sisters Susie and Dave “Cowboy” Brown of Philippi and Nancy Lantz of Philippi, brothers Dave Summerfield of Philippi and Jim Summerfield. He was also proceeded in death by one brother-in-law Gary Lantz. Mr. Summerfield was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School. He was a coal miner for 30 years then a laborer for the remainder of his career. He enjoyed watching old westerns, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday August 6, 2021 at 2 pm at the Mt. Olive Cemetery with Pastor Jon Villers officiating. Interment to follow.

to all of your family.. Until I read this obit I had no idea his first name was George or his nick
name of “Tujor” Rest In Heavenly Peace with Mama Summerfield on the Main Ranch in Heaven.

6, 7, 8, & 9 I will have the funeral home here in Bristol, TN send my cremains up to Wrights Funeral Home.. and have the ashes buried beside my parents near the wall that I built after Dad had passed away in 1983 at Clemtown Cemtary behind the Mariah's Chapel Church on the end of the lot.
