Hilda McCauley

Hilda McCauley, age 89, a resident of Barbour County Highway, passed away Sunday May 28, 2017 at her residence. Hilda was born December 12, 1927 in Barbour Co. a daughter of the late Earl D. and Bertha Rose (McVicker) Robinson. Hilda was united in marriage on February 25, 1950 to Carroll Leon McCauley who preceded her in death on July 20, 1984. Surviving is Daughter, Delta Ann Syslo and husband Joe of Clarksburg Son: Carroll Leon McCauley Jr. and wife Donna of Grafton Two grandchildren, Sherwood Woting and wife Alma of Clarksburg Eric Knight and wife Amanda of Philippi Four great grandchildren, Evan Knight whom resided with Hilda at home Franklin and Crystal Woting of Clarksburg Bradlee and Levi Knight of Philippi Hilda was preceded in death by one son, Kirk Douglas McCauley, sisters, Loretta McCauley, and Edna Dot Bennett. Hilda was a homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, gardening, and tending to her flowers. Hilda was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday May 31, from 5-8 pm and on Thursday June 1, from 8 am- 1 pm the service hour with Rev. Mike Flanary officiating. Interment will follow in Mary’s Chapel Cemetery.

    I've known Hilda since I was a young girl growing up in North Philippi. Hilda worked at the Dairy Mart. She saw alot of us grow up.
    She was a wonderful lady. Haven't seen her for awhile but had a great talk the last time we saw each other. We called it our catch up talk.
    RIP Hilda I will remember you always.
