Richard C. Seibert, Sr.

July 31, 1940 ~ August 3, 2018

Richard C. Seibert Sr., age 78, a resident of Stewarts Run Rd. Philippi, passed away unexpectedly on Friday August 3, 2018 at his residence. Richard was born July 31, 1940 in Wirt Co. a son of the late John Henry and Margaret Ellen (Hays) Seibert. Richard was united in marriage on July 31, 1960 to Virginia Sue (Williams) Seibert who survives at home. Also surviving- Two sons, Richard C. Seibert Jr. and wife Tammy of Philippi James Bryan Seibert and wife Candy of Harrisonburg, VA Four grandchildren, Christopher Seibert and wife Laura of Harrisonburg, VA, Steven Seibert of Morgantown, Olivia Seibert of St. Petersburg, FL, Frankie Cox and wife Cherith of Harrisonburg, VA Two great grandchildren, Elyse and Sara Cox of Harrisonburg, VA Richard was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Seibert Richard retired from the US Postal service as a mail carrier with over 40 years as service. He was an avid farmer and member of the Elk City United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday August 7, from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel. In honor of Richard’s request for cremation will be honored following the funeral service.
