Dr. Ralph R. Snodgrass Jr., age 72, a resident of Rt. 3 Berryburg Community Philippi passed away Thursday September 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born November 24, 1939 in Jonesboro Arkansas a son of the late Ralph and Lisa (Smiley) Snodgrass. He was united in marriage on August 22, 1985 to Patricia Ellen (James) Snodgrass who survives. Also surviving are Children: Wendi Chapman and husband Randall of Richmond, VA

David James Waddell

Sisters: June Miller and husband Charles of Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Freda Corruthers and husband Donald of Alburnett, Iowa

Grandchildren: Eric Allan Wellman, and Patric Christopher Wellman

Ralph was preceded in death by sister Jackie Jones, and brother Aubrey Hendrix
He worked as a veterinarian for the Barbour Co. Animal Clinic. He served in the US Army from 1960-63. Ralph was a member of the American Legion Post #44 and served as treasurer and historian. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and fishing.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday September 16, from 4-8 pm and on Monday September 17, from 8 am -12 pm the service hour with Rev. Marvin Brown officiating. Military honours will follow the funeral service. In honor of Dr. Snodgrass’s request cremation will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hospice 1600 Crim Ave. Belington, WV 26250.

Just ran across this notice. So verry sorry about Snods death. He and I were High School classmates, Football teammates, and great friends. One of the smartest persons I have ever known

Ralph and I were always saying to each other "remember when we did it this way?". We were known as the old timers. I loved working with him and can't believe he is gone. He may have arrived a bit late in heaven, due to his delay at the Rainbow Bridge. RIP good buddy. See ya soon.

Pat, I am deeply saddened to read of Ralph's passing and your loss. My condolences to you and your family.

Words can not express my thoughts of DOC He was so kind and caring with our pets over the years. I never saw a man that loved animals so much. I will always remember the kindness DOC showed to animals and people alike. He will be greatly missed.
