Wilda Moats

Wilda "Beo" Moats, age 93, a resident of N. Walnut St. Philippi passed away Saturday January 23, 2010 at her residence. She was born March 20, 1916, in Upshur County a daughter of the late Mathias J. "Sie" and Virginia Leah (Mitchell) Anderson. She was united in marriage March 19, 1938 to Truman Huffman Moats who preceded her in death on October 11, 2001. Surviving is; One daughter: Opal and husband Keith Cooper of Rt. 92 Belington Five grandchildren: Anita and husband Roddy George, Darla and husband Dave Goff, Brian and wife Tonya Cooper, Kim and husband Jared Nestor, Jon and wife Toni Wright Great grandchildren: Seth, Sylas, and Mazzie George, Mikala Goff, Cody and Katelyn Cooper, Marshall and Cade Nestor, Logan and Alexis Wright Several Nieces and Nephews Mrs. Moats was preceded in death by one daughter; Dorothy Wright, one grandson; Joseph John "Joey" Wright, one sister; Gertrude "Toots" Booth Mrs. Moats was a homemaker, she enjoyed working in her flowers, quilting, cooking, and baking bread and pies. Mrs. Moats attended the Grace Chapel United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday January 25, from 3-8 p.m. and on Tuesday January 26, from 8 a.m.- 1p.m. the service hour with Rev. Randy Simms officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of your choice. Tuesday January 26, 2010, 1 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home Click for Map and Directions

  4. Opal and Family… so very sorry for the loss of your mother and my Aunt Beo. She was such a sweet and giving person. I will always cherish the memories of the old times I spent with her and all of your family. I always seemed spoiled when we come to visit. Wish I could have visited her more lately, but I have no way of going places and not able to go much either. Opal, you and the Family will be in my prayers during your time of sorrow. God Bless.
