Carol "Cab" Daugherty

Carol “Cab” Jane Daugherty, age 82, a resident of Philippi, passed away Sunday September 11, 2022 in the United Hospital Center. Cab was born April 16, 1940 in Philippi, a daughter of the late William Harrison and Stella Anna (Krois) Daugherty. Surviving is son, Todd Daugherty of Dowington, PA, grandchildren, Hayleigh Daugherty of Scottsdale, AZ, Allison Daugherty of San Francisco, CA, siblings, Naomi Johnson of MD, Elizabeth Slater of MD, Martin Daugherty and wife Bonnie of Philippi, David Daugherty of MD, Jack Daugherty and wife Nina of Philippi, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cab was preceded in death by siblings, Ralph Daugherty, Hayward Daugherty, William Daugherty, Ronald Daugherty, Dolores Bell, Maryann Bacon, John Daugherty.
Cab retired from the US Government Printing Office working as a proof reader. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and dancing.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday September 14, from 4-5 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 5 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. In honor of Cab’s request cremation will be honored and will follow the services.

Love Aunt Cab so much! She was such a big part of our childhood memories! She was always the most fun to be around. I’m glad that my kids were able to learn a few of the good jokes from her. I know she is having a good time in heaven with the rest of the family. We will sure miss her & the others here on earth until we meet again.
So sorry to hear of Cab’s passing. She was a wonderful person and lots of fun to be around. She will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
