Caroline Rosalie Allen

Caroline Rosalie (Scuzzi) Allen, age 92, a resident of Philippi, passed unexpectedly away Friday November 25, 2022 in Maysville, KY. Caroline was born December 25, 1929 in Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Profetta) Scuzzi. Caroline was united in marriage June 27, 1947 to her husband of 59 years Wilford Allen who preceded her in death on March 22, 2006. Surviving is son, Joseph Allen of Olive Hill, KY, grandchildren, Danny Bobbitt of Louisville, KY, Willy Allen and partner Nikki Miller of Maysville, KY, Vinny Allen and April Allen both of Louisville, KY, Mary Allen of Grayson, KY and Victoria Allen, sister, Sally Gianfelice, brother-in-law Bretzel and Edna Allen of Bridgeport, and several nieces and nephews, feline companion Smokey Caroline was preceded in death by six siblings, Michael, Warren, and Nicholas Scuzzi, Jenny Schrembach, Eleanor Anderson, and her k-9 companions Abby, Francis, and Mary Lou Caroline worked for Clifton Division of Litton Industries and helped with Apollo 11 Moonflight, she also worked for Foodland and Foodfresh. She volunteered at Heart and Hand, and also the Garden Market. Caroline enjoyed gardening, listening to music and being outdoors in nature. She loved children, and in earlier years was a Cub Scout den mother. Caroline was an animal lover. Caroline was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and was very active in the church. She will be sadly missed, and she was loved by all who knew her. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday November 29, from 6-8 pm. the recitation of the rosary will be held at 7:30 to conclude the visitation. On Wednesday November 30, from 8-9:30 am at which time Caroline will be moved to the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am with Fr. Babu Joseph as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.

  2. So sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. U enjoyed working with her at Foodland. She always had a smile on her face. She was such a pleasure to she at Heart and Hand. Prayers for her family and friends.

  3. I count myself blessed to have been able to work with Caroline when she volunteered at Heart and Hand House. What a dear, sweet lady! She will be greatly missed.
