Marian B. Sublett, age 76, a resident of Philippi, passed away Sunday January 1, 2023. Marian was born May 9, 1946 in Barbour County a daughter of the late Robert and Loraine (Upton) Mitchell. Marian was united in marriage on March 14, 1964 to Arthur P. “Corkey” Sublett, Jr. who survives at home. Also surviving are sons, Shon Sublett and wife Nyoka, and Scott Sublett and wife Denise all of Philippi; grandchildren, Shaina Sublett, Kelci, Gavin, Devin, Sawyer, Elliott, and Brittany; great grandchildren, Brylee, Aurora, and Yana; brother Rodney Mitchell and wife Linda of Philippi; niece Amanda Sisson and husband Ryan, and their children Tyler and Trevin of Philippi
Marian enjoyed tending to her flowers, collecting antiques, crocheting, and shopping. Marian especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and loved to go to the beach. Marian was a Methodist by Faith.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta “Bobbie Jo” Sublett
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday January 5, from 5-8 pm and on Friday January 6, from 8 am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
