Brian Keith Smith, age 62, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Sunday July 2, 2023, in the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. Brian was born March 28, 1961, in Philippi a son of the late Ned P. Smith and Anabel E. (Stemple) Smith. Brian was united in marriage to Leslie A. (Croston) Smith who survives at home.
Also surviving are sons; Troy Smith, Barrett Smith and companion Rachel Caprio all of Philippi; six grandchildren; brother, Larry H. Smith and wife Lisa Kay of Myrtle Beach, SC, Stephanie Jones and husband Don of Washington, WV; sisters-in-law, Pam Smith of Philippi, and Valerie Croston of Canton, OH; brother-in-law, Eugene Kennedy of Canton, OH; several nieces and nephews; good friend Bruce Messer of Philippi.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents Ned and Anabel Smith; brother, David Smith; and son, Chad Smith
Brian loved sports he was an avid WVU Fan, and huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also loved to play golf.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday July 4, from 11 am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating.

I lost contact with Bryan a few years ago. I spent some time on the hardwood with him. He loved to compete whether on the court or on the course. He was fun to be around and I enjoyed his friendship. I can only hope his family is at peace with his passing and I’ll miss him and the memories we shared. Doug Bush
