Clyde V. Emigh

Clyde V. Emigh passed away January 16, 2024 at the United Hospital Center. He was born in Leicester, England son of the late Clyde E. and Hilda Mary (Read) Emigh. Clyde was a resident of Nestorville, Barbour County. He leaves behind his loving wife Charlinda with 41 years of marriage, his brother Bruce (wife Belinda) Emigh, of Coalton, mother-in-law, Eunice Walker of Nestorville, sister-in-law Sandra Walker of Nestorville, Donna (husband Mike) Shepelak of Centreville, Virginia; nephews Brandon Emigh (Kylie) of Mabie, Michael C. (wife Jacqueline) Shepelak of Fort Mills, South Carolina and Brandon Shepelak Haymarket of Virginia; nieces Briana (husband Jason) Park of Union; great- nephews Lincoln and Hunter Park, Micheal Peter and Christopher Shepelak, and great-niece Harlow Grace Emigh and several cousins. One niece, (Brittany Emigh) preceded him in death. Clyde was a graduate of Elkins High School and WVU where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He was registered professional engineer. He was project manager on I-77 and I-79 highway construction projects for the WVDOH. He then served as district engineer for the WVBPH Environmental Engineering Division in the Philippi and Wheeling district offices. He later served as a senior design engineer for private engineering consultant firms in north Central WV. Clyde was a member of the WV Section American Water Works Association, served as state chairman of the WV Section AWWA, and received AWWA’s G.W. Fuller Award for distinguished service to the water supply field. He presented evening potable water treatment plant operator state certification courses (sponsored by RESA) and routinely participated in Environmental Engineering Division conducted operator state certification courses. He enjoyed participating in potable water treatment plant filtration system evaluations/renovations and the installation of chemical feed systems to improve potable water quality. His greatest pleasure was traveling with his wife to the national parks and particularly to Acadia National Park, in Maine. He was an avid trout fisherman and particularly enjoyed trout fishing with his brother and nephews. He enjoyed canoeing the Cheat River with his friend Tom and the ramp dinners they had with their friends and co-workers every spring in the Parsons area. He was a member of the Cross Roads UMC where he served on various committees. At the request of the deceased visitation and funeral services will be family only. Services will be at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory with Pastor Tami Shoup officiating. Interment will be held in the Central Chapel Cemetery.
