Deborah “Debbie” Marie Smith, age 58, a resident of Volga, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March 26, 2025, in the Emergency Department of Broaddus Hospital. Debbie was born June 21, 1966, in Springfield NC, a daughter of Donald S. and Goldie B. (Howser) Sullivan. Debbie was united in marriage on June 23, 1984, to Kenneth “Kenny” L. Smith.
Debbie enjoyed making crafts, tending to her gardening, and going camping with her family. Debbie loved her family and always looked forward to the time she could spend with them. Debbie was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School Class of 1985.
Surviving is her loving husband, Kenny Smith; children Tony A. Smith and wife Charity, Ashley M. Foy and husband Bill, and Madison Smith; grandchildren Aiden D. Smith and Ava G. Foy; brothers Danny Sullivan and wife Tonda, Jeffrey Sullivan and wife Maranda, and Tony Frank; several nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Goldie Sullivan; brother Earl Sullivan; sister Faye Markley; nephews Jacob E. Sullivan and Eddie P. Sullivan.
In honor of Debbie’s request, no services will be scheduled.







Debbie, you will be missed tremendously. I will miss our camping, beach and seafood trips. Prayers for family and friends in the up coming days
