Barbara Dalton, 77, of Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025 after a brief illness, entering eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, Barbara will be remembered for her generous heart, warm spirit, and the joy she found in the simple moments that made life beautiful.
Barbara was united in marriage to Joseph Dalton, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family values that will continue to live on through those they cherished.
Barbara is survived by her loving children: Ronald “Pooch” Newman of Canton Ohio, Edith “Sissy” Newman companion Aurelio Martinez of Canton Ohio, Crystal Newman and son-in-law Martin Mayle of Canton Ohio, and Debbie Taylor and husband Robert Taylor, of Virginia.
She was a proud grandmother to Heather Dalton, Samantha Taylor, Ronald(Aaron) Newman, Kiara Newman, Emaleigh Mayle, and Jaxon Mayle.
Barbara great grandchildren are Taegan Mattison, Kyle Lantz, Mason Rock,Owen Rock, and Aubrey Newman.
Barbara was welcomed into Heaven by her husband Joseph and her beloved grandchild, Landon Mayle, who preceded her in passing.
A dedicated homemaker, Barbara took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home. She enjoyed traveling, cooking delicious meals for the ones she loved, and spending time with her family—her greatest joy in life. To know Barbara was to know kindness, comfort, and unwavering support; she was the heart of her family and the one they could always count on.
Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
May she rest in peace, reunited with those who went before her, and forever watching over the family she loved so dearly.
Family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday November 5, from 10am- 12 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 12 pm. Barbara will be laid to rest at the Knottsville Cemetery.
