Betty Weekley

Betty Marie Weekley age 62 a resident of Rt. 2 Philippi passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2009 in United Hospital Center. She was born in Mt. Clare, WV a daughter of the late Thomas Ruble and Abbie Virginia (Sprouse) Weekley. Surviving are: Two Sisters; Mary Ellen Weekley Annabelle Yocum, both of Philippi One Brother; Hollis M. Weekley of Bellaire, OH Ms. Weekley was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul Franklin Weekley, Rubel Leon Weekley, John E. Weekley, and Jack J. Weekley. She was a Registered Nurse for Broaddus Hospital for 20 years and Director of Nursing for 15 years for Taylor Co. Home Health. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a graduate of Philip Barbour Class of 1965 and graduate of D &E College. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday, January 3, 2010 from 3-8:00 p.m. and on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 8-10:00 a.m. the service hour with President Chad Plymale conducting and President Stephen Johns presiding. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park in Mt. Clare.

  1. My thoughts & prayers to the family. I first met Betty when we both Bettyattended the same meetings for Home Health, I enjoyed comparing notes and discussing our jobs, Betty will be missed.

  4. I was a classmate of Betty's at Philip Barbour. I hadn't seen her since college but remember her as a sweet, hard-working young woman. She shall be missed.

  5. Words cannot express the sorrow for your loss of Betty. She was one of a kind. My mom (Sue) and Betty were friends for many years,also worked together. I'm happy mom could help when she could. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family.

  7. I worked with Betty at Broaddus Hospital several years ago.She was an aid &I was too.Later she became a R.N. She was as much fun to work with then as before .She will always be remembered as a sweet & very loving person.

  8. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to you at this time of your loss. I went to Philip Barbour and graduated with Betty in 1965. I will miss miss her, especially when we have our class reunion. Trust in the Lord, and he will never let you down.

  9. Betty took great care of my son, Chad Webb, while he served in Philippi during his mission to West Virginia. I had the opportunity of speaking with Betty on the phone and although I never was privileged to meet her in person, I have a great love and respect for her. I am very grateful for the love and care that she gave my son and the many other missionaries that she cared for and loved. Thank you so much, Betty! We love you!!
