Carol Grace Dalton, 79, of Moatsville, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

 

Carol was born in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Carl and Madeline Benedict. Born on December 25, Carol often said her life began on a day of celebration.

 

She shared many years of marriage with her beloved husband, Donald Dalton. Their anniversary, February 14, was always a meaningful day to her.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Dalton, her son Hughie; her daughter Karen Kennedy and her husband, Donnie (Rocky) Kennedy, and their child, Kathy Kennedy.

 

Carol is survived by her sisters: Shirley and Beverly; as well as her children: Donald (Donnie) Dalton; Glenn Dalton and his wife Emily; and Rita Dalton.

 

She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kyle Kennedy and his wife Laura; Rebecca Dalton, Leah Dalton, and Josh Dalton; Glenn Dalton, Dustin Dalton, and Barbara Dalton; Danielle Mayle, David (Cole) Mayle, Alicia Mayle and her husband Adam, Jacob Mayle, and Isabella Dalton; as well as her great-grandchildren, Michael Kennedy and Gabriella Mayle.

 

Carol was a beloved mother, friend, and grandmother known for her lively spirit and love of connection. She enjoyed long conversations, keeping up with the lives of those she cared about, and sharing stories with friends. She loved birds, candy, thoughtful gifts, and the simple joys that made life feel warm and full.

 

She was a strong-willed and charismatic woman whose personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

 

Many will always remember her early morning phone calls, a reflection of how much she valued staying close to the people she loved.

 

With faith in God’s promise of eternal life, Carol’s family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace. Her memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the family and friends who carry her spirit forward.

 

Family and Friends are invited to gather at Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi, West Virginia in remembrance of Carol on Saturday February 14, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 pm. Service begins at 2:00 pm.  Interment will follow in the Olde Poke Cemetery.
