Charles David “Chuck” Scheick, age 70, a resident of Maplebrook Ln. Philippi, passed away at his residence following an extended struggle with heart disease. Chuck was born June 30, 1949 in Sellersville, PA, a son of the late Curtis and Alice Henrietta (Groman) Bender. Chuck was united in marriage on August 7, 1971 to Dawn M. (Smith) Scheick who survives at home. Also surviving -

Jacob Charles Scheick and Harmony Jade Grogan of Austin, TX
Sister: Rita Alice Scheick of Fairmont, WV
Brother: James (Jaimie) Scheick and wife Sherry of Palm, PA
Grandsons: Henry Braden Scheick, and Maxwell David Scheick
Chuck retired from the Barbour County Board of Education where he served as principal and teacher. Chuck enjoyed cycling and playing racquetball. He performed in several of the Covered Bridge Playhouse performances and was the male lead in The King and I, 1776, and Kiss Me Kate. Chuck was active in the Philippi Baptist Church. He was a member of the Choir, the Pastor Relations Committee, and the Board of Christian Education. Chuck was also a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday August 5, from 4-8 pm and on Tuesday August 6, from 8 am- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm on Tuesday with Pastor Jon Villers officiating. In accordance with Chuck’s request cremation will be honored. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain State Mission Offering, PO Box 1019, Parkersburg, WV 26102.







So sorry to learn of Chuck's passing. Great memories of our years together at A-B, especially choir tours. Have heard great things about his work in education. He has been a blessing. My prayers and love reach out to you and the family.

So sorry for the loss of this wonderful man. Anybody that had him as a Principal was privileged & blessed. He had such a mild, kind temperament. Barbour Co. has lost one of it's best. And, the Barbour Co. school system was honored, privileged, &, blessed to have had him. I had privilege of working with him as a tutor as well as being his student, my daughter also had privilege of being his student came has substitute she really clicked with him he really understood challenged people I'm ever so grateful for what you brought to my life still carry it today you will be highly missed RIP
