Christine Lubanna Jones age 86 a resident of Mansfield Place Philippi and lived in Independence Community most of her life, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009. She was born October 2, 1922 in Barbour County a daughter of the late Arley R. and Garnet E. (Hudkins) Burner. She was united in marriage March 24, 1942 to Jess Bruce Jones who preceded in death May 30, 1989. Surviving is:

Carol Allen of Fayetteville, TN
12 Grandchildren: Scott Jones,Robert and wife Kris Jones, Denise Jones, Michelle and husband Richard McElwain, Derek Jones, Chase and wife Alana Jones, and Allison Jones, Dustin Jones and fiancé Danielle, Gavin and wife Jenna Jones, Caitlin Jones, Jessica and Brandon Jones.
Several great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by one grandson Greg Jones, seven brothers; Russell, Gail, Don, Arley Jr., Richard, Brooks, David Burner, one sister Kathleen Burner.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker, she had been active in PTA, Philip Barbour Athletic Boosters, and a poll worker. She was a graduate of Philippi High School, a life-long member of the Independence Church of Christ and attended Crim Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jones joy in life was the love of her children and their families. The fellowship in church and community activities were all special to her.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi, WV on Sunday April 5, from 4-8:00 p.m. and on Monday April 6, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. the service hour with Rev. Alicia Rapking officiating. Interment will follow in the Barbour Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Place Activity Center PO Box 930 Philippi, WV 26416. Kent and I had the opportunity to meet Chris a couple of years ago and will always remember meeting her! We loved she kind eyes and sweet smile and her family too, yes, even Terry. She was a wonderful woman who leaves a great clan to carry on. You all are in our hearts and prayers.
I would like to thank everyone that has kept Grandma and our family in their thoughts and prayers. I know that Grandma would be so appreciative and happy to know that so many people care this much about her. She touched so many lives and will continue to do so. I do ask that you do continue to pray for our family as the holiday rolls around, and we take things day by day. I love you Chriss Belle and miss you beyond belief.
