Connie Ann Bennett, age 88, of Philippi, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Celebration Villa of Martinsburg in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
She was born on September 30, 1937, in Century, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Louis Boni and Ida (Pokas) Boni. On January 7, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jackson Olen Bennett, who preceded her in death on September 10, 2019.
Connie is survived by her children Ann Stoey and husband Kevin, and Brad Bennett and wife Patty; grandchildren Sierra Stoey, Desiree Stoey, and Wesley Jacobs; step-grandchildren Rhonda and husband Michael Williams and Jagger Stoey; and step-great-grandchildren Natalie Williams, Curtis Williams, Zachary Stoey, and Brentley Stoey. She is also survived by her sister Marti Stevens and husband Steve, nephew Chris great nephew Allan and brother Jim Boni and wife Karen and nephew Stephen.
A 1955 graduate of Philippi High School, Connie retired from AT&T after more than 30 years of dedicated service as a telephone operator. She was a member of Crim Memorial United Methodist Church, where she volunteered often and was known for her caring heart and willingness to help others.
Connie enjoyed life’s simple pleasures—she rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, or her favorite soap operas. She was an avid fan of Philip Barbour High School football and WVU football, and she especially loved cardinals, her favorite bird.
Friends may call at Wright Funeral Home and On-Site Crematory, 220 N. Walnut Street, Philippi, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Sam Haught officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Elkins.
