Ellen Bernice (Clark) Murphy, age 71 a resident of Philippi, WV passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Eagle Rock, VA where she made her home since March of 2013. She was born May 7, 1942 in Iron Gate, Virginia a daughter of the late Louis Lemmie and Beulah Marie (Knick) Clark. She was united in marriage in October of 1967 to George Henry Murphy who preceded her in death December 2, 1986. Surviving is- one daughter, Theresa Goldberg and husband Keith of Eagle Rock, VA one step-son, George H. Murphy, Jr. and wife Tammy of Flemington one brother, Robert L. Clark and wife Sharon of Clifton Forge, VA two grand-daughters, Amanda Murphy of Clarksburg Tonya Murphy of Flemington two grandsons, Keith Allen Goldberg, II of Eagle Rock, VA Joseph Murphy of Clarksburg great-grandchildren, Brayden Thomas, Joseph Ray Murphy and Abigail Murphy several nieces and nephews special friend, Terry Mayle of Philippi She was a loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Murphy was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Bartlett; brothers, William “Bill” Clark and Alvin Clark She retired from C&P Telephone as a technician. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday, February 17, from 4-8 pm and on Tuesday, February 18 from 8 am-2 pm the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery at Tacy. Tuesday February 18, 2014, 2 pm at Wright Funeral Home Click for Map and Directions
