Eugene Orwin Collins, Jr. age 56, a resident of Philippi, passed away Sunday June 1, 2025 in the Untied Hospital Center. Eugene was born January 30, 1969 in Philippi, a son of Eugene Orwin Collins Sr. and Elizabeth Ann (McGee).
Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing, and socializing with his friends.
Eugene is survived by his long-time companion Rita Lantz; children Bridgette Canter and companion Jeremy Burdette, Robert Gales, Keshia Likens, Jennifer Smith, Donna Fitchett and husband Jacob; eight grandchildren; sisters Lora Pond, Norma DeMoss, and Elizabeth Everson.
Eugene was preceded in death by his father Eugene Orwin Collins, Sr.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday June 7, from 12- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Sandra Pethtel officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
