Freda M. Lake age 83 a resident of N. Walnut St. Philippi passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 in United Hospital Center. Freda was born December 18, 1940 in Philippi, a daughter of Loring Nebraska and Bessie Jane (Wine) Wagner. Freda was united in marriage to Cecil Lake.
Freda enjoyed tending to her flower beds, watching the hummingbirds, and family get-togethers.
Freda is survived by her husband Cecil Lake; daughters Cecilia Lake and Phil Haller, Sunny Lake and John Cutright; grandchildren Jeremy Lake and wife Anna, Jason Lake and Devin, Cyndi Mayle and husband Eddie, Jamie Lake; great-grandchildren Taylor Mayle, Brody Mayle, Avah Johnson, Ivy Lake; sister Ruby McDonald and husband Roy; several nieces and nephews
Freda was preceded in death by her parents Loring and Bessie Wagner; son Matthew Lake; granddaughter Suzanne Hollen; brothers James Wagner, Frank Wagner, and Paul Wagner.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and on-site Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday October 4, from 6-8 pm and on Saturday October 5, from 10am- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 2 pm with Speaker Steve Hill officiating. Entombment will follow in the Bryan Memorial Mausoleum.
