Gary Charles "Charlie" Tallman

Gary Charles “Charlie” Tallman, known affectionately as “Bo” to his coworkers at J.F. Allen, age 78 of Belington, WV passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Nella’s-Autumn Lake Nursing Home in Elkins, WV, following a period of declining health.

Born on December 30, 1947, Charlie was the son of the late Jennings Tallman and Helen (Wright) Tallman.  On October 26, 1974, he married his beloved wife, Shirley (Kesling) Tallman who preceded him in death.

Charlie is survived by his twin brother Larry Tallman (late wife Bridget) of Belington, WV; his brother Herman Tallman (late wife Mary) of Florida; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers Gerald Tallman and Gene Tallman (Rita); and his sisters Genevieve Arbogast (Norman) and Janet Russell (Jim).

Charlie worked as a truck driver for J.F. Allen in Elkins, WV, until his retirement.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time.  He was known for his sweet disposition, warm personality, and wonderful sense of humor.  He cherished time spent with family and friends and loved sharing stories from years gone by.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Nella’s-Autumn Lake Nursing Home and Mountain Hospice for the love, compassion, and care shown to Charlie.

In accordance with Charlie’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no funeral or memorial service will be held.
