Glenna Propst

Glenna G. Propst, age 83 a resident for the past two years under the loving care of Donna and Lonnie Mayle of Webster and a former resident of Rt. 3 Mansfield Addition, Philippi past away Friday October 28, 2011 at Donna's residence. She was born January 14, 1928 in Boulder Community a daughter of the late Herndon and Effie E. (Moore) George. She was united in marriage April 17, 1949 to Howard J. Propst who preceded her in death on September 10, 2000. Surviving is; One son: Ben Propst and wife Joan L. of Philippi Daughter-in-law: Ellen Propst of Mansfield Addition, Philippi One brother: Hertsel George of Fairmont Four grandchildren: Daniel Propst of Philippi, Amy Unger and husband Frank of Thornton, WV, Joseph Propst of Morgantown, Samuel Propst and wife Rachel of Point Marion, PA One great grandchild: Alan Propst Glenna was preceded in death by two sons: Danny and George Propst. She worked as a deputy clerk for 19 years and retired as a County Clerk with 28 additional years of service from the Barbour County Clerks Office. She was a member of the Homemaker Club, Dorcas Rebekah Lodge # 275, LAPM, LEA # 28, Mansfield United Methodist Women's Society, a graduate of the University of Hard Knocks class of 1987, and member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday October 29, from 2-8 pm the Rebekah Lodge #275 will conduct services at 7 pm. and on Sunday October 30 from 8 am - 2 pm the service hour with Speaker Robert "Buck" True officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

  15. I was so sorry to read about your loss, Mom spoke of Glenna often when I was back there caring for Her. You are in my thoughs and Prayers . Curt .

  16. Many Many Years Ago….at a very young age Glenna helped me through a very tough time, though listening and caring when I worked at the courthouse. The comforting words and kindness shown was and will never be forgotten.
