Ira Hovatter

Life Legacy Ira Gene Hovatter, age 67 a resident of Kasson Rd. Moatsville, passed away Saturday August 6, 2016 at his residence. He was born April 26, 1949, in Barbour Co. a son of the late Ira D. and Mary Jemima (Auvil) Hovatter. He was united in marriage on February 9, 1974 to Carol Sue (Nestor) Hovatter who survives at home. Also surviving is One daughter; Heather Marie Poling and husband John of Kasson One son; Gene Allen Hovatter and wife Mary Beth of Kasson One sister; Ruby Lee Wetzel of Troy SC Two grandchildren, Henry Gene Poling and Samuel John Poling Ira worked as a heavy equipment operator for IUOE Local #132, he was an avid farmer and attended the Kasson United Methodist Church. Ira was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School class of 1967. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday August 8, from 2-8 pm and on Tuesday August 9, from 8- 11 am the service hour with Pastor Gina Stewart, Rev Kenny Kendall, and Speaker Brad Dumire officiating. Interment will follow in the Central Chapel Cemetery.
